22:31  15/06/09  : IT ENDS HERE..

 
 

 

 So it was my end of year show last week , and it marked the end of two years study,two years hard graft (well maybe just medium to soft graft), two years of drinks at the Ark and two years of meeting some cool people.The show went well and i got rid of a considerable amount of business cards (who to , i've no idea)
So here i sit smack bang in the middle of the real world , lets see where it takes me!

20:29  02/06/09  : Have blog, will travel.

 
 

 

Where the sun shines we follow, so it was off to the west coast ,Kintyre was our destination..we found a fantastic spot next to the sea.you'd never guess it was Scotland , the clear water and the sun , it looked like the Mediterranean.

 

 

As i sat on my rock ,surveying the marvellous view that was to be the backdrop upon which the rest of the weekend was set, i pondered what i could do this weekend that was a little different from my usual photographic exploits. I remembered a recent flickr group id admired and thought , that's the ticket , ill do some JUMPING .

This jumping stuff was not as easy as id imagined, and involved running back and forth from the camera again and again setting timer and timing the jump perfect, I persevered ,looking more and more like a nutter as the time passed luckily our little idyllic spot was deserted so embarrassment was spared.

On our little beach lived : 3 family members, a small grey mouse (heard but not seen till the last day),2 oyster catchers (we believe this is what thier called, in other words a pair of birds)a few crabs, squillions of midges (see photo bellow) an inordinate amount of butterflies, and a seal.

Passers by included : a few micro light planes, some fighter jets, surfers and a load of walkers looking for an invisible 'Doon' with no success.

22:21  27/05/09  : Cracked it!

 
 

Dreamweaver can kiss my ass!

I have mastered its silly ways and the website is complete finally ,

it's even centred in the screen , a small miracle that was. After the first failed attempt i started from scratch new design, and in the end it took 3 days, and I'm quite pleased with it. Let me know what you think. Next week ill blog a list of the websites by all the fab designers in my class.

16:20  23/05/09  : In my right mind?

 

Well I have recovered from my latest project, this is the result . Its a portfolio of sorts to go on display at my degree show in 2 weeks.

(i am in this photo just to show you the scale of the thing -its massive, and very heavy)

 

 

 

I spent all day Wednesday laying out the design and making big last minute changes. Then after some much needed dinner i proceeded to print, cut ,stick, trim and punch holes till 3am.Then 4 hours later i got up , finished (and fixed some 3am mistakes)and off I went to college to spend 3 hours cutting out the shapes in the front cover (ouch sore fingers!!).

 

So a mammoth bookbinding task it was, I felt like Frankenstein , up all night creating my masterpiece only to awake in the morning to an unwieldy monster in need of taming. But its finished and I am content with what I did in the time , in fact I'm glad there was a deadline for this because it was one of those projects that I could obsess over for ages picking and choosing and still not being happy with it( my website is becoming a bit like that) . The deadline made me ruthless and I'm thank full for that.

20:43  10/05/09  : THE BEGINNING

  

 

I fear this blog of mine will not be prolific, it will not be remarkable or even markable, if there is such a word, it will not influence or imprint upon your mind, it will not speak to you in ways that stir your emotions. I just don't have the talent for writing , and, as someone who is interested in all artistic endeavours I envy the ability in others.

But, every effort is being made to improve, beginning with this blog. I hope that you too make the effort to stick with it , to track my progress and my self confidence with this whole writing malarkey will improve. And I in turn will do my darndest to keep up .

with your input and comments maybe we can make this blog passable.

 

The image is an introduction for a book im working on at the moment , the book is going out on display at my degree show.I think ill try a few alternatives to this introduction....
